YOUNG SCARLETT HOOD and the desperately wicked wolves |

On Wednesday 14th July, 46 Lower School students performed to a packed house the story of Young Scarlett Hood by Andrew Manners. The play looked at what happened to Little Red Riding Hood when she becama a teenager and planned an all night party with her friend Cindy Rellar. Unknown to them the Wolves are planning to kidnap her and hold her to ransom whilst an incompetent Inspector Clue tries to solve this mystery romp.

On Tuesday 22 June Year 9 students and visiting students from Taiwan, took part in a housing development enterprise day, run by Devon Education Business Partnership. The day was organised by Yvonne Paddon (Devon Education Business Partnership) who was assisted on the day by Martin Cavanna (Cavanna Group), Roger Smith (Lloyds TSB) , Mac Muzvimwe (Chartered Surveyor), Vic Millard (TCC Governor) and Marlin Allen (Retired Businessman).

Excitement about the World Cup has inspired a colourful display in the Library of all aspects of the tournament - starting with full sized flags of all the 32 countries participating, loaned by Mr Benchouiha. Displays celebrating fiction and non-fiction books about the game and the countries involved are on view as a way to encourage reading though sport.

On Wednesday 16 June, the Year 7 Girls Rounders team travelled to Churston Grammar School to participate in the South Devon Rounders competition. The girls were pooled with 6 other schools: Teign, Churston, Stover, Kingsbridge, Paignton and South Dartmoor, but a total of 14 schools participated in the tournament altogether.
The first team they played was Kingsbridge. Despite a shaky start, the girls fought hard to come back with some fantastic batting from Taylaa Brewster and Becky Gallagher who both scored several full rounders for the team. |

Year 8 students were invited to take part in preparing a speech on “If I was Prime Minister”, linked to a recent project from the Citizenship Foundation. The students revealed a wide range of concerns that they would like addressed by the new government including issues of equality and the environment.
Dear Mr Cameron and Mr Clegg,
We are writing to you with regard to the Citizenship Foundation Competition. We are a little late in writing, but wish to share our ideas on how we would like to see the country run under your coalition government.
We both feel very strongly about “being yourself”. As you are probably aware that many children our age (13) are harbouring secrets that could be embarrassing to discuss. These secrets could, we believe, be:
